Hi! I’m JC, a freelance illustrator based in Paris, France. I paint mainly with oils, as I love the feel of the brush on the surface, as well as the texture and look of physical media in general.
Working with publishers and independent authors alike to create engaging book covers and interior art is the core of my activity. I really enjoy the collaborative process that goes into creating an image. Discussing ideas and iterating on them to find the best way to materialize stories and concepts in an evocative and memorable manner is a truly rewarding experience.
My childhood love for fantasy and science-fiction (or, as I like to put it for family members who look back at me blankly, “wizards & elves, spaceships & aliens”) has led me to specialize within the broader genre of imaginative realism.
When I’m not painting, I like spending my time reading, drinking coffee while doodling, and visiting museums.
